Akurugraphy: Exhibition Tour
Akurugraphy: Exhibition Tour
Don’t miss a tour of the Akurugraphy exhibition at the Geoffrey Bawa Space! Join Mooniak co-founder, type designer, and exhibition co-curator Pathum Egodawatta for a curatorial tour of the new Akurugraphy exhibition at the Bawa Space. Pathum will discuss how global platforms have become sites of cultural negotiation, where decisions about the legibility of language carry deep consequences for who is seen, who is heard, and whose language endures. Pathum specialises in the type and typography of South Asian scripts, with a focus on Sinhala and Tamil, as well as multilingual communications. He has a Master's in Typeface Design from the University of Reading and a Bachelor's in Graphic Design from the Academy of Design (AOD) and the University of Northumbria. ‘Akurugraphy’ is supported by generous grants from Kohler India, the Initiating Partner for the Geoffrey Bawa Trust’s exhibitions programme, and Sampath Bank Private Banking for the exhibition’s public programme. Parking: Please be aware that parking is not available at the venue. Visitors are advised to use ride-sharing services or arrange drop-off and collection. Accessibility: The Bawa Space main entrance has step-free access and wide doorways. This event will be held on the ground floor
