Living Archive

Living Archive

A three-artist collective exhibition ‘Living Archive’ brings together the work of Prasad Weerasinghe, A C Nuwan, and Hiruni Hansini Mathangadeera, exploring the ways in which memory, imagination, identity, power, and lived experience shape our understanding of the present. The exhibition considers the archive not as a fixed record of the past, but as something continuously changing and being rewritten through individual and collective experience. Prasad draws from traditional temple imagery to examine the subtle influence of contemporary ideologies and systems of power. Nuwan reflects on human experience, perception, and power through colour, form, and symbolic imagery, while Hiruni explores the tension between inner psychological realities and the external world through fragmented figures, memories, dreams, and emotions. Together, the three practices create a dialogue between inherited visual languages and contemporary life. Living Archive suggests that what we carry from the past remains active within us—shaping how we see, remember, imagine, and experience the world around us.
