Before making anything, we begin by looking. This November, we will spend four days within Lunuganga, with two days devoted to 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧: a workshop in reading the landscape and making site-responsive botanical installations. Through guided walks and site studies, we look at relationships already present: architecture and vegetation, openness and enclosure, light and shadow, movement and stillness. Then we make. Working exclusively with discarded botanical material gathered from the garden, participants will explore temporary construction methods before developing individual interventions in response to chosen sites. The installations are designed to tread lightly, remaining temporary guests within the garden. Staying at Lunuganga allows the looking to continue beyond the workshop itself: early and late, through different weather and changing light.
