Walk for Peace

Sri Lanka will host the internationally recognized “Walk for Peace” from April 21–28, 2026, led by the Most Venerable Paññakāra Thera and a delegation of twelve monks. Spanning seven days across sacred sites from Anuradhapura to Colombo, the pilgrimage will carry the sacred sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and revered relics. The program, supported by the Government’s “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative, will culminate in a State Ceremony and cultural exhibition, showcasing Sri Lanka’s Buddhist heritage and traditional crafts.
